Flux-cored electrode

Article Tools

Select-Arc Inc. (www.select-arc.com) formulated its new low-alloy steel, flux-cored electrode for welding steels that have 3 percent nickel content, and that require post-weld stress relief and a minimum of 80,000 psi tensile strength. The company says Select 85-Ni3 is a gas-shielded electrode that produces a weld deposit with about 3.5 percent nickel and required globular transfer. The electrode produces a convex bead profile, and is offered in 0.045-in. and 116-in. diameters.
