The increases for the acetylene and high pressure cylinder product lines were effective May 1, and the increases for the bulk tank and portable liquid cylinder product lines were effective June 1. Surcharge increases for the bulk tank and portable liquid cylinder product lines were effective April 30, 2008.

The company increased base prices for its bulk tanks by 3.8 percent and base prices for its liquid cylinders an average of 5 percent.

The new base-price and surcharge schedules are available at the company's website.

Scott W. Boyd, vice president of sales and marketing said the new price increases are driven by surges in raw material costs. He noted that TW Cryogenics has seen price increases from its steel suppliers increase by an average of 15 percent for carbon-based steel plate and in excess of 20 percent for the alloy steel that his company uses to produce its acetylene and high pressure cylinders.
