FIBA Technologies, Inc. (www.fibatech.com) said it is expanding its Millbury, Mass., production facilities to increase production capacity for seamless steel pressure vessels.

FIBA said it also is taking steps to improve the flow of the manufacturing processes to streamline its operations so that efficiency is improved and lead times are reduced.

The company said it is taking these steps to meet significant increased global and domestic demand for its products .

FIBA already has expanded its manufacturing operations to occupy an additional building on adjacent property.

In addition, the company is planning to break ground for an addition to its existing pressure vessel manufacturing facility. It also has secured property adjoining its facility to accommodate the storage of raw pipe materials to meet the increased production output, and has expanded some production operations to three shifts.

As part of this planned growth, FIBA has trained all of its employees in Lean Manufacturing principles, and has implemented Lean Manufacturing practices in its facilities. The company said that has resulted in a reduction of waste and costs and an increase in output and productivity.

“The future looks very promising for FIBA as we work diligently to meet the growing demands of our U.S. and international customers, through capacity and product line expansion and process improvements,” the company said in a prepared statement.

FIBA serves industrial and specialty gas and chemical companies that use intermodal, high-pressure gas and cryogenic products globally.
