Hypertherm Inc. (www.hypertherm.com) has acquired Italy-based ESSE A Srl., a manufacturer and supplier of laser consumables and accessories.

Hypertherm, which specializes in plasma arc cutting technology, said the acquisition adds to its technology portfolio, manufacturing assets and customer base in laser cutting heads and consumables, while expanding the products it can offer to global channel partners. Additionally, it provides ESSE A with access to Hypertherm's technology resources, global operations and sales infrastructure.

ESSE A, and its approximately 20 associates, will remain in Italy.
